TRAVEL, ADVENTURE & EXPLORATION
Humans have long since proved that we have an obsession with the new and unexplored. As we continue to push the boundaries of what has been done we are also have a compulsion to document those journeys. These films will be inspiring and nostalgic; they will bring some of us to and the rest of us back to those places we have traveled to.
INDIGENOUS FILM & FILMMAKING
This selection of films has been curated on the basis that they were created by indigenous filmmakers and highlight contemporary and traditional indigenous topics.
INSIPRING CHANGE
These films inspire change! Touching on topics around sustainability, environmental conservation and social justice, these films will captivate through stories of transformation, innovation and social entrepreneurship.
MOCKUMENTARY
This category aims to capture the lighter side of film reminding all of us that it is important to have some fun and laugh (at ourselves).
Documentaries may be submitted in the following formats: Narrative Feature (>40 minutes); Short Documentary (<40 minutes); or, Micro Documentary (<8 minutes).
Preference given to students filmmakers and filmmakers from the territories of the Lil’wat, Musqueam, Sechelt (shíshálh), Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh Nations, as well as the Vancouver communities.
Discounted early bird submission deadline: September 30th | Final deadline to submit: October 31st.
